OREANDA-NEWS. July 21, 2010. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the growth of agricultural production volume in January-June 2010 was due to the increase of livestock production volume by 12.7% - it is 89% of the total volume of agricultural goods produced in this period.

Particularly, in Moldova in January-June 2010, as compared to the same period of 2009, the cattle and poultry growth (in animal weight) increased by 24.2% - up to 59.8 thousand tons, eggs production – by 12.8% - up to 338 million pcs, and cow milk reduced by 1.8% - up to 241.1 thousand tons.

The growth of meat and eggs production was registered in all sectors: in agricultural enterprises – by 27% and by 14%, respectively, and in private households – by 23% and by 12%, respectively. The increase in cattle and poultry growth was due to production increase of pork – by 44% and poultry – by 17%. The increase of poultry growth volume resulted in the increase of eggs production by almost 13%.
