Ukraine Can Use Experience of Liberal Reforms

For Ukraine, which took the path of liberal reforms, very useful is the experience of other countries, including Georgia, to modernize the economy and increase its competitiveness. This was announced today in Tbilisi by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Tyhypko, who during the talks in Georgia headed the Ukrainian official delegation
The main objectives of the visit of the Ukrainian Government in Georgia is familiarization with the process of socio-economic reforms, implementation of optimal mechanisms of regulatory policy, creation of favorable conditions for business development and attracting foreign investment.
"The successful experience of liberal economic reforms in Georgia is very interesting for us and this visit opens new possibilities for the exchange of progressive experience in public administration" - Serhiy Tigipko said after today's meeting with Prime Minister Zurab Nikoloz Hilauri.
Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Ukraine was interested in reading the experiences of reforming the system of state regulation, enforcement bodies, tax service in Georgia.
Commenting on the current state of trade and economic ties between our two countries, Vice Premier noted the decrease of their intensity through the global economic crisis. "Before the crisis there was a good momentum of development. Ukrainian investors came to Georgia. I'm talking about Chiatura, Batumi, Gudauri ski resort, the financial sector "- Ukrainian official said. In addition, Serhiy Tigipko expressed confidence that after the crisis the economic relations between two countries will rapidly recover and come to a new level of partnership.
As for the most promising area of bilateral cooperation, Serhiy Tigipko allocated agriculture and processing industry.
