Belarus Can Extend Cooperation with Lithuania in Fuel & Energy
OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2010. Belarus has set up a delegation to the Belarus-Lithuania working group for cooperation in fuel and energy. It was approved by resolution №90р of the Belarusian Prime Minister.
The Belarusian delegation is headed by First Vice-Premier Vladimir Semashko. His deputies are First Deputy Energy Minister Eduard Tovpenets and deputy chairman of the Belneftekhim concern Vladimir Volkov. The delegation also includes representatives of the ministries of economy, justice, transport and Communications, State Property Committee, Beltransgaz, Belarusian Oil Company.
In accordance with the resolution, the group is expected to analyze the feasibility of the construction of a LNG terminal in Lithuania in the context of possible supplies of liquefied natural gas through Lithuania to Belarus and to present a report by 1 November 2010. The group has been also authorized to analyze the feasibility of launching oil supplies by sea through terminals and territory of the Republic of Lithuania to Belarus.
