OREANDA-NEWS. July 16, 2010. The Government has allocated 260 million UAH for implementation of complex measures for energy saving. The Minister for Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Yuri Hivrich said that.

"Today, the priority is to reduce the gas consumption by communal heat enterprises" - Yuri Hivrich said.

He said the Ministry in frame of preparation of enterprises of housing and communal services to the heating season 2010-2011, has implemented the measures to reduce the gas consumption by introducing energy-saving technologies, improving the effective use of traditional fuels, provision of alternative sources of energy and non-conventional fuels.

The official noted that to heat the settlements the scheme has been developed, which would allow to optimize the heating system by closing or upgrading the unprofitable facilities. "The priority for the Ministry is to develop the regional programs for modernization of municipal power system, which gives us the opportunity for 4 years to reduce natural gas consumption by 30%" - the Minister stressed.

In addition, Yuri Hivrich noted that these measures will provide an opportunity to hold a sharp increase in cost of services for heating and supplying hot water and will increase the reliability and quality of services.
