OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2010. The Agreement on an order of cash resources and (or) monetary tools’ movement by physical persons through the customs border of customs union (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement) was signed at level of heads of the states on July 5th , 2010 at the session of Interstate Council of the Euroasian economic community that has taken place in Astana (Kazakhstan). The text of the Agreement is published on the official site of customs union commission (http://www.tsouz.ru/).  Established rules have been used since the the date of signing the Agreement.

In accordance with the Agreement, by one-time import to customs territory of the customs union or export from customs territory of the customs union, that are done by natural person, of cash resources and (or) traveller's cheques in a total sum which is equal or does not exceed the sum in an equivalent of 10 000 US dollars, moved cash resources and (or) traveller's cheques are not subject to obligatory declaring in writing, however can be declared at will of the natural person.

Necessity of written declaring (is established both at import, and at export) cash resources and traveller's cheques in a total sum exceeding in an equivalent of 10 000 US dollars. The securities moved through customs border of the customs union are subject to written declaring irrespective of the sum.

The accepted Order simplifies process of moving of money resources and monetary tools through customs border of the customs union. Common requirements for import and export of cash resources and monetary tools are more clear and simple. The unified requirements to currency moving are applied by many countries. So moving of currency is declared in the European union begining with 10 000 euros.

It is necessary to notice that natural persons can move cash resources, traveller's cheques and securities without declaring between member states the customs union.
