OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2010. The Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) Igor Artemyev had a meeting with one of the co-owners of the international group of Knauf companies, Mr. Nikolaus Knauf, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

At the meeting there were also present Deputy Head of FAS Russia Andrey Kashevarov, and the Heads of FAS Russia's Legal Department, Department for Control over Industry and Defence Complex, Department for Control over Transport and Communication, Department of Administrative Service, and Department for International Economic Cooperation.

The discussion focused mainly on the prospects of developing Knauf business in the Russian Federation.

Igor Artemyev told about amendments to the Russian antimonopoly law ("the third antimonopoly package"), which should have positive impact upon development of competition in the Russian Federation, and informed his guest about the new system of electronic competitive bidding. The Head of FAS Russia also suggested that the Knauf Company can bid for government contracts in Russia, which would expand distribution of their products.

At the top-level meeting Knauf representatives were able to get full answers and explanations to all issues of concern.
