OREANDA-NEWS. July 14, 2010. The Fifth Joint Meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Israeli Committee on trade and economic cooperation had place. The Ukrainian side was headed by the Vice Prime Minister Viktor Tikhonov, the Israeli part by Minister of Tourism of Israel Stas Misezhnikov.

Main emphasis was placed on the development of trade and economic relations, intensification of cooperation in investment sphere, as well as priority directions of Ukrainian-Israeli bilateral cooperation in the near future.

In particular, during the Commission the parties discussed issues of cooperation in high technology, medical, industrial and agricultural sectors, public utilities, discussed the draft Agreement on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments.

Following the Commission's work results the Programme for promising areas of cooperation for 2010-2011 between the State Committee of Ukraine for Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy and Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labour of the State of Israel and the final report of the Fifth Meeting of the Commission were signed.
