Gomel Chemical Plant Products Undergoes REACH Authorization
OREANDA-NEWS. July 12, 2010. The Gomel Chemical Plant has been undergoing authorization of its products in line with the European Community Regulation REACH, the company told BelTA.
The plant is expected to complete the authorization of chemical substances in nitrogen, phosphoric and potash fertilizers in November 2010, and next year the chemical substances in other products exported to the EU, including sulfuric acid, cryolite, sodium sulphate.
The European Community regulation on chemicals and their safe use REACH (the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances) entered into force on 1 July 2007. According to it, all chemical substances produced and exported to the amount of 1 tonne and more per year within the European Union should be registered with the European Chemicals Agency. The companies that are eager to work on the EU market should undergo preliminary authorization in compliance with the REACH Regulation. In late 2008 the Gomel Chemical Plant completed the preliminary authorization phase what enabled the company to continue the export to the European Union.
