OREANDA-NEWS. July 12, 2010. Uralmash Engineering has negotiated a contract for the delivery of ring-rolling mill. The mill is designed for Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) - Indian metallurgical company, which produces special metals and alloys. Uralmashplant shall produce and deliver mill standard equipment with electrics and automatic control system by August 2011, and put it into operation in March 2012.

The contract made is a result of the tender where at Uralmashplant along with other machine-building enterprises from China and South Korea participated.

The mill is designed to roll rings from various steel grades, including titanium alloys, with 0,4 - 3, 5 m diameter. Such rings are widely used in aircraft and space industries as well as nuclear power engineering.

Uralmashplant designers propose new engineering solutions, including state-of-the-art hydraulic system and control systems. The mill shall be equipped with newly designed main drive gear, travel mechanisms for carriage and internal-roll upper support, simple and reliable inclined-roller mill stand and roller assembly-disassembly stands.  

Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) is a state enterprise, which is in the jurisdiction of Indian Department of Defense. The company is located in Hyderabad and manufactures over 100 grades of special metals and alloys, including titanium and titanium-magnesium alloys, special steel grades, nickel alloys, titanium blanks and rolled stock, magnets, motors and rotors. The company's production is in a great demand at power industry, aircraft, space, chemical and other high tech industries of the country.
