OREANDA-NEWS. July 09, 2010. July saw the opening of the Scientific and practical workshop “Relevant issues of development of hydrocarbon fields of the Yamal peninsula and adjacent water areas” organized by Gazprom and Gazprom VNIIGAZ on the base of the Department of scientific and technical supervision of integrated development of the Yamal peninsula and adjacent offshore fields of Gazprom VNIIGAZ in Salekhard.

The scientific program of the workshop was launched by the Deputy Head of Strategic Development Department – Head of Innovative Development Division Tatiana Lobanova and the First Deputy Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District Vladimir Vladimirov.

The workshop is devoted to issues of formation and development of the resource base of Gazprom in the Yamal region. The participants are discussing challenges of gas and gas condensate field development on the peninsula, new technologies of construction of onshore and shallow offshore wells; construction of trunk gas pipeline system on the Yamal peninsula; establishment of pilot industrial sites for application of new technologies of gas production and transmission; provision of environmental safety in the course of industrial development of the Yamal peninsula.

The workshop brought together heads and specialists of Gazprom group (Gazprom doycha Nadym, TymenNIIgiprogaz, Gazflot, CKBN, Gazprom dobycha Yamburg, Gazprom dobycha shelf, Yuzhniigiprogaz), partner companies involved in research and production activity in the region (NOVATEK, SibNats, Oil and Gas Research Institute of RAS) and representatives of YNAD administration.
