Baltiysk to Receive Deep-Water Seaport
OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2010. With a view of realization of the federal target program “Russian Transport System Development (2010-2015)” and drawing the budget for implementation of design works, the design documentation presented by FSE “State Customer Directorate of Marine Transport Development Programs” titled “Investments Substantiations for the Project “Construction of Deep-Water Seaport in Baltiysk, Kaliningrad Region. Federal Property Objects”, developed by ZAO “GT Morstroy” with recommended placing of the seaport in the region of Severniy cape (Balga peninsula) was approved by the order of Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport from May, 31st, 2010 № AD-142-r.
The new port is supposed to have the transshipment capacity of about 131,5 million tons of container, bulked and Ro-Ro cargoes per year, which will be handled at 43 cargo moorings.
