OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2010. Estonian Air’s shareholders approved the Annual Accounts of the company, where the consolidated sales revenue of Estonian Air in 2009 was 978.4 million kroons, which is 32% less y-o-y, reported the press-centre of Estonian Air.

Estonian Air earned a loss of 69.4 million kroons from its economic activities in 2009 of which 39 million kroons were the one-off expenses associated with returning two airplanes to leasing companies and the extraordinary expenses relating to restructuring amounted to 10 million kroons. This means that despite the decrease in demand and reduction of the scope of its activities, Estonian Air came close to break-even point in 2009. As a comparison, the company ended the 2008 financial year with a loss of 170.5 million kroons.

Estonian Air held a strong leadership position in Tallinn Airport with the market share of 41.8% in 2009. The share of regular flight passengers was 45.9% (45.7% in 2008) and the share of charter flight passengers was 22.4% (22.7% in 2008).

In 2009 Estonian Air operated regular flights to 21 destinations from Tallinn to Europe, in addition from Kuressaare, Tartu and Parnu to Stockholm and from Tallinn to Kuressaare. Estonian Air operated charter flights to 26 destinations.

The regularity of all Estonian Air’s flights was 98.5% and 15-minute punctuality was 90.3%, according to which Estonian Air belongs to most punctual airlines in Europe. The regularity and punctuality of flights operated with Boeings were 99.6% and 91.2%.
