Turnover between Belarus and Moldova May Reach USD 550 mn
OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2010. This was announced by Vyacheslav Osipenko, the Ambassador of Belorussia in Moldova, on July 1st at state reception, organized by Belorussian government in Chisinau on the occasion of national holiday - Day of Independence of Belorussia.
He emphasized that in current year the task minimum is to increase by one third the turnover volume of Belorussia and Moldova in 2009 that amounted USD255 million. Belorussian diplomat reminded that Moldova traditionally is one of the leading trade partners of Belarus, taking the 4th place by turnover volume among CIS countries after Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, and the 15th place by export – among all trade partners of Belarus.
He stressed that in the course of 12th meeting of Intergovernmental Belorussian-Moldovan Commission on trade and economic collaboration, held in Minsk on February 15th-16th, 2010, the parties have assigned the measures on the development of collaboration in priority sectors and stimulation of mutual turnover growth. Vyacheslav Osipenko noted the readiness of Belarus to purchase up to 100 thousand tones of Moldovan fruit and vegetable and tinned goods. Belorussian diplomat emphasized that at present more than 26 thousand tractors Belarus are working in the fields of Moldova.
The annual demand for MTZ tractors – is up to 500 pcs. Belorussia is ready to develop joint manufacture on their assembling in Moldova and to sell the technical equipment on local and EU markets. Minsk and Chisinau are already implementing the project on manufacturing Belorussian-Moldovan lawn-and-grape tractor Belarus. In the current year 17 pcs of technical equipment were manufactured; this number is to be increased by 100 pcs in the short term. The other perspective trend of bilateral collaboration between Belarus and Moldova Vyacheslav Osipenko called the joint assembling of trolleybuses.
