OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2010. Sokolov-Sarbai Mining Production Association, which is a part of ENRC, launched a metal-rolling plant, reported the press-centre of KASE.

The plant will produce 75 th tones grinding bodies annually:

- grinding rods;

- grinding balls for own needs of SSMPA with account of gradual increase of output of iron-ore raw materials;

- hoop; and

- building deformed bar for own needs of ENRC.

The plan has two 10-ton electric arc steelmaking furnaces, 15-ton ladle furnace, continuous casting machine, producing three types of stock-materials.

The plan has been constructed since 2009.

This is a mini plant based on metal-rolling breakthrough technology bringing 650 jobs.

SSMPA president, Mukhamedzhan Turdakhunov: "With the launch of the plant SSMPA entered a new development stage, transforming into a metallurgical enterprise. Despite the project having commenced amidst the crisis, its construction was completed in time, which is evidence of the stable standings of the Group and SSMPA in particular".
