OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2010. During his visit to the Italian Republic, Brescia, the Chairman of the Board of JSC Belagroprombank S.N. Roumas met with the representatives of one of the leading Italian banking group Unione di Banche Italiane Scpa (UBI Banca). The negotiations resulted in signing an Interbank Agreement on opening and maintaining an account of JSC Belagroprombank with the Italian bank. Such an account will enable money transfers (up to EUR 3000 each) from Italy to individuals in the Republic of Belarus, reported the press-centre of Belagroprombank.

The recently signed agreement evidences that JSC Belagroprombank has moved up to the new quality level of cooperation with the Italian financial institutions. During the discussions related to the draft Agreement the parties focused on the necessity of the money transfer service that would be used by the Italian families who are participating in the programs for health-improvement of Belarusian children, and , in particular, for the purposes of foreign gratuitous aid. Italian funds send about EUR 6 million to the Republic of Belarus each year for charitable purpose.

Money transfer system arranged with UBI Banca has become the next step towards a tighter cooperation between JSC Belagroprombank and the Italian banking group and is in full compliance with the Cooperation Principles signed by the two banks within the Belarusian-Italian Economic Forum that was jointly organized by JSC Belagroprombank and the Italian Embassy in the Republic of Belarus in Minsk in November 2009.
