OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2010. Moscow Domodedovo Airport announces its new partner from the CIS – air carrier East Air, representing Tajikistan. Starting from June 11 2010 the airline will operate flights by Boeing B737 from Kulyab in the South-East of the country to Moscow with the following schedule:

Tajikistan is a historical destination for Moscow Domodedovo Airport as air traffic was started in the 60s of the previous century. Currently there are four cities of Tajikistan which can be reached from Domodedovo airport: Dushanbe, Khujand, Kurgan-Tyube and Kulyab – one of the oldest cities in the country.

East Air registered in Tajikistan was established on August 17 2007. The air fleet features Boeing B737-200, B737-300 and B737-400. The airline is based in Kulyab Airport (Tajikistan). Earlier East Air was operating predominantly charters to UAE, Afganistan, South-East Asia and the CIS states. Flight Kulyab – Moscow is the first scheduled service of East Air.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest airport of Russia. Its market share in total passenger traffic in Moscow makes 46%. At the moment 74 partner airlines (46 foreign including 11 representing the CIS States and 28 Russian) connecting over 228 destinations operate flights all over the world.
