OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2010. SOLLERS has noticed further growth in the popularity of its cars as part of the government recycling program. In particular, for two months of the program, which began 8 March 2010, FIAT, SsangYong and UAZ dealerships, 3491 certificates were written out. 1583 cars were given to customers.

Among all SOLLERS brands, UAZ continues to be the leader. For the whole period of the program 2044 Certificates were written out at this brand's dealerships. The brand's high popularity is maintained thanks to additional customer incentives for residents of Ulyanovsk Oblast. OAO UAZ and the government of Ulyanovsk Oblast provided residents of Ulyanovsk and the Oblast with an extra discount of 70 thousand roubles. Therefore, the starting price for cars in the recycling program was reduced by 120 thousand roubles.

There has also been a significant increase in customers over the last two months in FIAT and FIAT Professional dealerships, which wrote out 1362 Certificates. The biggest growth in interest in the Italian brand was seen in Tatarstan, whose government, together with SOLLERS, offers any Russian resident who buys a car in the republic an additional discount of 40 thousand roubles on the FIAT Albea sedan and FIAT Doblo Panorama and 100 thousand roubles on the FIAT Ducato van. Therefore, the total discount reaches 90 thousand for cars and 150 thousand roubles for vans.

Fans of the respectable SsangYong SUV's came to the Korean brand's dealerships during the program more than 400 times. SsangYong dealers wrote out 85 certificates.

The government old car recycling program came into force on 8 March 2010 and continues until 1 November. As part of the program, owners of any cars produced before 1999 can take them to a recycling point and receive a discount of 50 thousand roubles towards buying a new car from a list determined by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. One condition of the program is that the car must have been owned for more than one year before recycling.
