OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2010. As it was informed in at the National Bureau of Statistics, the industrial output growth was due to the increased production at processing industry enterprises- by 7.8% and energy sector – 0.7%, which stimulated the increase in the overall production volumes by 6.2% and 0.1%, respectively.

The increase in the industrial output in this period was due to the output growth at the factories producing clothes - by 15.9%, wine – 20.8%, tobacco products – 64.7%, distilled alcoholic beverages – 39.7%, paper and cardboard - 18%.

The production and distribution of electricity increased by 1.1%, footwear - 7.2%, cocoa, chocolate and sugar confectionery – 10.3%, carpets – 13.4%. Production, processing and preservation of meat and meat products has increased by 1.8%, furniture - by 5.1%. During the same period, the production of pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems has increased by 54.4%, household appliances – 52.8%, medical and pharmaceutical products – 35.5%, suitcases and bags – 29.4%, varnishes and color – 18.1%, fodder for animals - 9%.

At the same time, in January-May 2010 the output of the factories producing other nonmetal mineral products (glass, cement, gypsum) has decreased by 11.5%, rubber and plastic goods – by 13.1%, machinery and equipment – by 5.7%. The enterprises of extractive industry reduced the volume of production by 19.6%.

The output of fabricated metal products, except for machinery and equipment has decreased by 21.9%, medical devices, precise, optical instruments - by 26%, fats and oils – by 5.1%, bread and pastry products - by 2.1%, wood and wooden products - by 34.7%. In 2009 the industrial enterprises of Moldova of all forms of the ownership produced to the amount of 23 billion 266,6 million leis, 22.2% down compared with 2008. The National Bureau of Statistics does not take into account data on the Transnistrian region.
