OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2010. Ingosstrakh Life Insurance Company (LLC), the member of INGO Group specializing in long-term life, pension, health and accident insurance, in May 2010 added insurance against critical illness to children insurance offers.

Ingosstrakh-Life is the first insurance company in the Russian market, which offers coverage of this risk to individuals under 18 years of age.  The list of illnesses covered by children insurance polices is specific and differs from the list of critical illnesses for adult persons, and includes such illnesses as: cancer, renal failure, transplant of vital organs, paralysis, blindness, deafness, serious head injury, coma, encephalitis, bacterial meningitis.

Fortunately, children are significantly less subject to critical illnesses than adults; however, parents incur heavy expenses for treatment of such illnesses and long-term rehabilitation. If one of the above illnesses is diagnosed, insurance against this risk provides an insurance indemnity which allows to cover expenses for treatment and compensate the lost profit of the mother who, usually, is not able to work during the child’ illness. Indemnity for this insured risk amounts to 100% of the insurance amount.

Insurance for critical illnesses is offered under the program for children accident and health insurance "Semitsvetik" both to new and current clients.

Such coverage is a new insurance product for Russia; the first month of sale of the product showed clients' interest in this coverage, sellers of Ingosstrakh-Life’s retail network actively promote this product in the market.
