Moldova to Become Chairman of Energetic Society in 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2010. According to the government press-service, it was the main point of discussion on the meeting of Chisinau Prime Minister Vladimir Filat and Fabrizio Barbazo, Deputy Director-General, General Directorate of European Commission for Energy and Transport.
The parties discussed some questions regarding the future chairmanship of Moldova in ES, the energetic collaboration in the region and the energetic security of Moldova. Fabrizio Barbazo noted that chairmanship in ES that will pass to Moldova next year is a very good chance for Moldova to become more noticeable on world energetic market.
He stressed the importance of energy sources’ diversification, and also the provision of energetic security. Vladimir Filat said that the provision of energetic security is the main goal of Moldavian government and that all efforts are being made to diversify the energy sources. The Premier supported the attraction of foreign investment in this sector and noted that in this term the private partnership would be reasonable, under the effective regulation on the part of the state.
He specified that Moldavian government is intended to attract not only the well-known investors but also those, who are able to achieve greatest results. According to his words, Moldavian authorities consider these actions in the light of the European integration process. Vladimir Filat said, that the government of Moldova will treat the chairmanship in Energetic Society with maximum responsibility, and expressed his confidence that together with external partners the positive results will be got.
