OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2010. In May 2010 the enterprises of railway, automobile, river and air transport carried 686.6 thousand tones of cargos, that is 20.4% more than in the last month and 8.2% more as compared to May 2009.

As National Bureau of Statistics has claimed, in whole from January to May 2010 the enterprises of railway, automobile, river and air tranport carried 2503.6 thousand tones of cargoes or 88.7% of the total volume of cargo transportation of the same period of 2009. The decrease of cargo transportation volume as compared to January-May 2009 is registered on the enterprises of river transport by 33.5% and on the enterprises of railway transport by 19.3%.

In January-May 2010 by means of automobile transport were carried 1162.2 thousand tones of cargos, that is 0.9% more than in the same period of 2009. The considerable part of cargo transportation goes to enetrprises of Chisinau municipium – 54.5% and Beltsy – 16.7%, Strasheni region – 5.8%, Novo-Anenskiy region – 5.3%, Yalovenskiy region – 3.3%, Tarakliyskiy region – 2.6% and Singereyskiy region – 2.1%.

By means of railway transport in mentioned period were transported 1309.2 thousand tones of cargo or 80.7% of total volume of cargo transportation of the same period of 2009. In the structure of cargo, transported by railway transport, the biggest share went to the following groups: ferrous metals and scrap metal – 38.7%, crops and cereal products - 18.8%, building materials and cement – 10.4%.
