Mozyr Oil Refinery Expects Next Shipment of Venezuelan Oil in June
OREANDA-NEWS. June 23, 2010. Mozyr Oil Refinery is ready for the next shipment of Venezuelan oil, which is supposed to arrive on 24-25 June, Director General of Mozyr Oil Refinery Anatoly Kupriyanov told media on 23 June.
The Venezuelan oil will be processed using the procedure the company used in May 2010 when it received the first batch of Venezuelan oil. “I think there will be no difficulties with processing the oil this time, too,” said Anatoly Kupriyanov.
The Santa Barbara variety of Venezuelan oil boasts low sulphur content. Its light oil product output can reach 80%. In May 2010 Mozyr Oil Refinery processed the first batch of about 80,000 tonnes of Venezuelan oil. The processing of another batch will begin in early July when about 30,000-40,000 tonnes of oil is accumulated. The company is supposed to process 7,000-8,000 tonnes of oil per day.
Belarus and Venezuela signed the agreement on supplying Venezuelan oil to Belarus in March 2010. According to the agreement the presidents of the two countries signed, Belarus will get about 4 million tonnes of Venezuelan oil in 2010.
Products made out of the Venezuelan oil will be exported via a Belarusian-Venezuelan joint venture. Venezuela owns 75% of the shares of the joint venture while Belarus owns 25%.
Mozyr Oil Refinery was commissioned in 1975. It was converted into a joint-stock company in 1994. The state share in the company’s authorized fund stands at 42.7%, NGK Slavneft’s – 42.6%, other shareholders’ – 14.7%. The company is part of the Belarusian petrochemical concern Belneftekhim. In 2009 it processed 10.95 million tonnes of oil.
