OREANDA-NEWS. June 23, 2010. Board of directors of the World Bank plans to approve on Thursday the resolution on granting to Moldova the sum of USD 25 million for budget support/ This was announced by WB manager for Moldova Melanie Marlett speaking on the opening in Chisinau of Investment week Moldova Business Week 2010.

She noted that these means are assigned to support the reform promotion, to render assistance on the development of road infrastructure, of agricultural sector, on the promotion of Moldavian export, and also to help the representatives of socially-vulnerable categories of population because of increase of energy resources tariffs. Melanie Marlett claimed that Moldova established favorable investment climate, improved the business area, closely collaborates with private sector and adheres to selected course of reforms, and the WB is ready to help her in this.

She reminded that earlier WB decided to increase in Moldova the volume of financing of projects, aimed at the increase of Moldavian goods’ competitiveness, the development of business in rural area that made it possible to reduce the cost and time of business registration procedure in Moldova, to open access to crediting for farmers.

With the support of WB in the country was created a loan office that will allow giving to banks the information on the basis of history credits of clients; in the Chamber of Registration was introduced a “united eye” that facilitates the process of registration for enterprises, and in the near future the Parliament will pass a law which will facilitate the receipt of building permits and will enable to activate the activity of this sector.
