Moldovan Govt Raises Prognosis on GDP Growth to 2,5%
OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2010. This was speaking about on the meeting of Cabinet Council holded by the Prime-Minister Vladimir Filat on Monday where the project of amendments and additions to the Law on state budget for 2010 was observed and approved.
As the Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negrutsa has noted, according to updated macroeconomic prognoses, in 2010 GDP will be 67.1 billion leis (USD5.2 billion) and will increase by 2.5% (not by 1.5% as it was prognozed earlier) as compared to 2009. The head of the Ministry of Finance also emphasized that according to the actualized prognosis, the Moldavia export and import will increase in 2010 in comparison with the last year by 13% in both cases, when earlier the prognozed growth was by 12% and 15%, respectively.
Moldavian GDP in the Ist quarter of 2010 made up 14 billion 498 million leis (USD1.1 billion), increasing by 4.7% as compared to the same period of 2009. Moldavian GDP in 2009 was 60 billion 43 million leis (USD4.8 billion), reducing by 6.5% as compared to the previous year. The International Monetary Fund prognoses in 2010 the increasement of Moldavian GDP by 2.5%, in 2011 – by 3.6%, in 2012 – by 5%.
The World Bank prognoses in 2010 the increasement of Moldavian GDP by 2.5%, in 2011 – by 3.6%, in 2012 – by 4.5%.
