OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2010. IC ROSNO has concluded three large apartment insurance contracts (under the Megapolis program) for the total insurance amount of 12,308,997.07 US dollars. All insurants are private individuals, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

The apartment located in the 1st Zachatyevsky Lane (Ostozhenka), together with the movable property kept therein, has been insured under the extended coverage program for the total insurance amount exceeding 5.1 mln. US dollars. The apartments located on Isakovskogo Street (Strogino) and on Rezervny Passage (Dorogomilovo) have been insured with ROSNO for 4.3 mln. US Dollars and 2.7 mln. US dollars respectively.

"Despite the inflated real estate prices in Moscow, apartment insurance covers no more than 8% of the Russian capital’s housing stock (excluding municipal insurance)", explains Mr. Artem Iskra, head of ROSNO’s Personal Property Insurance Department. — "The standard (full) risk package contemplates protection against the following risks: fire, explosion, lightning stroke, aircraft impact, collision with transport vehicles, burglary, robbery and brigandage; unlawful third-party actions, flood, and natural disasters. With ROSNO, this set of risks may be supplemented with additional risks, such as: stealage of door keys to the doors of the insured building; negligent third-party actions in course of repair and construction works; voltage swings; flood due to malfunctioning washing machines, dishwashers or water heaters; flood resulting from any damage to aquarium, costs of hiring another residential premise for the duration of repair works at the damaged one, etc".
