OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2010. Steel pipe and railway wheels maker Interpipe together with the “Center for the Development of Corporate and Social Responsibility” (Kiev) have started work on writing a manual on CSR for Ukrainian universities. The manual is the first book in the framework of the project “The library of management decisions from Interpipe” that is going to be presented to leading universities in Ukraine. The manual is scheduled to be published in autumn 2010.

The group of authors that will work on the book will consist of teachers from the National university of “Kievo-Mogilyanska Academy”, Kiev National Economical University (named after Vadym Getman), the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnical Institute” and universities from Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhie, Krivoy Rog, Odessa, Lvov, Kirovograd and others.

Oleg Kuzmin, Director for Corporate Affairs at Interpipe said: “Interpipe actively provides tools for the education of young specialists for the national economy and industry. Our mission in working with students is to facilitate access to information and knowledge that will be useful in future. For this reason we were involved in the distribution of a book by Henry Mintsberg entitled “The rise and fall of strategic planning” that was published in Ukraine for the first time. Now we will summarize and systemize the best examples of CSR work in Ukrainian companies. The most important thing is that teachers from universities, international experts and business representatives will be involved in work on the manual, which we hope will give a positive and synergistic effect.”

Marina Saprikina, Director of the “Center for the Development of Corporate Social Responsibility”, remarked: “Work on the manual will be guided by comprehensive dialogue with stakeholders to give a comprehensive view on the development of CSR in Ukraine.”
