OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2010. Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) and the Government of Serbian Vojvodina Autonomous Province have signed a Cooperation Agreement. The Agreement aims at the Province stable social and economic growth and raising of the public living standards. Besides, NIS corporate strategy involves support of the regions of the company’s presence.

The Agreement is to be implemented through special programs and agreements with Vojvodina cities and municipalities. The company will facilitate cultural and sports projects, support development of science, promote the Province talents, and take part in a variety of regional and local programs.

NIS CEO Kirill Kravchenko stated: “Naftna Industrija Srbije is an integral part of the Province, therefore the company is obliged to undertake social responsibilities. Our purpose is to establish a favorable business development environment and improve the people’s living conditions. For these reasons we build a long-term strategic partnership with the administration of Vojvodina Autonomous Province.”

In his turn, Head of Vojvodina Government Bojan Pajtic emphasised the importance of the Agreement in terms of the province and municipalities development. Further, he pointed out that NIS should exemplify social responsibility for the rest of the companies operating within the Province.
