RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2010. Over the week of June 7 – June 11, 2010, the RTS Index went down by 0.29% to reach 1,356.79 points (1,360.74 points as of June 4, 2010). Most of the negative impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the falling prices for ordinary shares of Gazprom (GAZPS) (down 9.11 points) followed by ordinary shares of OJSC "OC "Rosneft" (ROSNS) (down 4.6 points) and ordinary shares of NLMK (NLMK) (down 1.65 points).

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, gained 0.45% to reach 9,202.08 points (9,160.47 points as of June 4, 2010). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced a decrease of 0.64% closing at 1,648.16 points (1,658.79 points as of June 4, 2010). Last week most of the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a negative trend. The largest decline was reported by the power sector, with the RTS Electric Utilities Index shedding 3.28%. A significant decrease was also shown by the financial sector, with the RTS Consumer Finances Index going down by 2.19%. The largest growth was seen in the industrial sector, with the RTS Industrial Index adding 1.96%.

Last week the US dollar appreciated by 2.2% against the ruble to reach 31.57 rubles per US dollar (30.89 rubles as of June 4, 2010).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week June 7 – June 11, 2010 equaled USD10.2 billion (323.2 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD2,306.4 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD790.64 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD698.3 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD309.56 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 33.85%, 29.90% and 13.25% respectively

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of Ufaneftekhim (UFNC) that went up by 21.21% to USD4, ordinary shares of JSOC Bashneft (BANE) that gained 6.25% to USD34 and preferred shares of JSOC Bashneft (BANEP) that went up by 5.56% to USD23.75.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of PIK Group (PIKK) that fell in price by 12.19% to reach USD3.68 followed by ordinary shares of OJSC Uralkali (URKA) that lost 12.05% to reach USD3.65 and ordinary shares of JSC "IDGC Holding" (MRKH) that shed 11.57% to reach USD12.
