Citibank Announced Mobile Version of Internet-Bank
OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2010. ZAO Citibank has announced the launch of Citi Mobile, a mobile version of Internet-bank that enables the bank’s customers to use their mobile phones for necessary banking operations, reported the press-centre of Citibank.
Citi Mobile is a mobile version of Citibank Online and was specifically designed as a convenient and secure tool to bank with Citi using a mobile device. Citi Mobile does not require any applications to be installed on the device - the customer only needs to have a mobile phone with Internet access.
Bhaskar Katta, Head of Retail Banking at ZAO Citibank, said: "Security and convenience are inherent in our retail customer solutions. Citi Mobile is one more step we are making in this direction. We are convinced that this new platform will benefit our customers through its functionality and the wide range of secure banking operations available to clients."
Logging in to Citi Mobile is very easy - customer needs to type in mobile.citibank.ru in the mobile browser window and input existing user name and password used to access Citibank Online. The system doesn’t request any personal information.
Citi Mobile gives an opportunity to check account balances; pay bills; do funds transfers, including a local currency transfer to another bank in Russia; open a time deposit and obtain information on Citibank’s currency exchange rates. The platform operates on the basis of the latest and most efficient security standards aimed at protecting confidential information when working on-line. All information is encrypted and transmitted via SSL-protocol. On top, the banking session automatically terminates if the client has not been active for more than 5 minutes.
Using Citi Mobile, as well as making transfers on the system is free of charge.
