OREANDA-NEWS. June 17, 2010. Coverage of 3G operation meets today the demand for high-speed mobile Internet in Azerbaijan.

Company’s corporate affairs manager Elshad Farzaliyev says that currently 3G technology covers, besides Baku, such big cities and regions as Sumgait, Ganja, Shamkir, Tovuz, Sheki and others.

“At the moment we don’t set a goal to cover entire Azerbaijan. Mobile Internet on 3G technology is enjoyed mainly by those mobile phone subscribers who need in daily access to Internet through mobile phone. As demand for that grows, we of course are going to expand our coverage,” Farzaliyev said.

Azerfon-Vodafon subscribers enjoy now Internet service through mobile phone at speed of 3.6 Mbps and Nar Mobile subscribers at speed of up to 2 Mbps.
