OREANDA-NEWS. June 17, 2010. Estonian Air’s crew uniform contest winner is collection no. 3, designed by Tiina Talumees. The winning entry was chosen by the jury members from among the four finalists of the contest, 33% of the decision depended on the outcome of the public voting, reported the press-centre of Estonian Air.

„Participation in the contest and dressing the national airline’s crew into new uniforms is a big honour for me,“ said Tiina Talumees, the creator of the winning collection.

The favourite of the people became collection no. 4, designed by Katrin Kuldma, collecting almost 100 votes more than collection no. 3. Altogether over 19 thousand people voted on Estonian Air's homepage for the collection they liked most.

Among others, the jury included Estonian Air's flight crew members, since they have the best experience to assess the functionality and comfort of clothing.

Estonian Air launched a competition for renewal of its crew uniforms in March, where well known Estonian fashion designers together with domestic clothing producers were participating. There were four fashion designers’ collections, from which the jury and people were choosing their favourite.

From 1-10 June, people could have a look at the collections on Estonian Air’s homepage www.estonian-air.ee/vormikonkurss and give their vote to the collection they liked the most.

Estonian Air launched a major development project “Renewed Estonian Air” in February this year. The main focus of the project is to improve Estonian Air’s products and services in order to make flying with Estonian Air a more pleasant and comfortable experience, but also to display the company’s visual image in a more powerful manner.

The first step of the project was the reintroduction of complimentary snacks and beverages to passengers having economy class tickets. The crew uniform update is the second step in this project. In total, Estonian Air plans to implement ten development projects, carried under a common name "Renewal of Estonian Air."
