Ukraine to Shorten List of Licensed Activities
OREANDA-NEWS. June 16, 2010. The Government of Ukraine had a task to reduce at least ten times the list of activities that require licensing. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this during the program "Exam for power" at First National channel.
According to Mykola Azarov, in Ukraine there are 78 activities and 2 250 thousand types of work that need licensing. "We put the goal to reduce this list at least ten times. We will act very aggressively in this direction. These are elements of the reform that is scheduled in the Program of the President of Ukraine, which the Government is gradually implementing", said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister said that the state should strictly control only two areas – healthcare and security: "I demand from all responsible for deregulation at every meeting of the Government in working order to make more determined steps. I defined the basic program postulate: I agree to tough regulation in only two areas - healthcare of our citizens and security of our citizens".
According to him, over the past five years the previous government had not undertaken any steps to solve this problem: "I have a question: why can not we simplify this system? How can a simple, normal person without money and without connections overcome all these? Why do we look at this so calmly?"
