Freight One Starts Deliveries to North
OREANDA-NEWS. June 15, 2010. Freight One has started to haul food and fuel to the northern territories. After the opening of the navigation season on the Lena River, the company began delivering food and petroleum products to Lena, Lena East and Yakurim stations.
As part of the deliveries to the north, Freight One’s Irkutsk branch hauled more than 50,000 tons of freight in May, including 2200 tons of gasoline, 5300 tons of aviation fuel and 31,000 tons of diesel fuel in tanks. In addition, more than 5,000 tons of food including flour, pasta and cereals were hauled in Freight One boxcars to the water crossing on the Lena River.
Freight One will begin hauling coal to the Far North of Siberia In the second half of June. An action plan to support the deliveries to the north will run all summer long and be completed by autumn.
