OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2010. Sibirtelecom launched two TV channels, “Strana” and “Sarafan” at the end of April as a part of “TVist” digital TV service. At present these channels are available to all users in 10 regions of Siberia.

“Strana” TV channel will show audience different aspects of everyday life in Russia. Surprisingly how little we know about each other and the country we live in. The main objective of “Strana” national channel is to fill in these blind spots, to show our country to the Russian citizens: a large world, infinitely various, original, and amazingly interesting.   Can be found at the channel’s website: www.strana-tv.ru.

“Sarafan” is the first international tourist channel in the Russian language. It broadcasts round-the-clock entertaining and educational programs, favorite films from the “golden fund”, talk-shows, serials, and programs about travelling and countries. The tourist subject of the channel is presented by educational programs about different corners of the planet, programs about history, customs and traditions of different countries. Little children are not forgotten; the channel will provide a rest to their parents and shows their kids animated cartoons with favorite characters. And certainly, the channel offers a lot of useful information for tourists: weather forecasts in various corners of the world, exchange rates and many others.
