OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2010. At the power plant a new gas turbine with capacity of 16 MW was launched into operation on the basis of the aircraft engine PS-90A significantly increasing the indexes of power efficiency.

In March 2010 production operation of the gas turbine at power plant GTPP-16PA being a member of Perm TPP-13 (a member of JSC IES’s “Generation of the Urals” Division). Thanks to the start of the new gas turbine the power plant has considerably increased its operation efficiency on wholesale market of power and capacity. Totally GTPP has worked out nearly 215 hours and produced more than 3,8 mln. KW/h of power, heat release is 4 741 Gcal.

Perm HPP-13 reconstruction Project which is called “Granat” is included into complex investment “Diadem” programme of JSC “IES”. Thanks to the realization of the investment programme the established electric capacity of the plant has increased practically twice: from 18 up to 34 MW. Heat capacity of the installed equipment is 19.2 Gcal/hour. The equipment parameters allow to use it to 8 000 hours per year and provide the coverage of basic (summer) heat loads for hot water supply with maximum possible accompanying power production. The efficiency of production and use of the heat from new equipment fuel burning makes 86,9%. The increase of capacities of HPP-13 provides for the decrease of the deficit in electric power in Perm-Zakamsk node.

The assembly of the new GTPP and all its major accompanying infrastructure facilities was completed at HPP-13 in spring of 2009. GTPP start-up works were performed during several months. The operation of the new equipment was checked including functioning of all mechanisms, joining, power lines, gas turbine control unit – which totally made several hundreds of equipment items.

In November 2009 an obligatory stage of power equipment testing was completed before its launch into industrial operation began: complex testing of the equipment during 72 hours at nominal load of 16 MW. During the testing the work of compressor and the gas turbine was synchronized in different regimes. Upon testing of the operation of GTPP-16PA and confirmation of equipment engineering performances, an Act on successful testing completion was signed by a System Operator. In winter of 2009-2010 all of the permissions were received for industrial operation of GTPP.

Mounted at Perm HPP-13 Gas Turbine was developed and produced also in Perm, at JSC “Aviadvigatel” and JSC “Perm Engine Company”. Thus, the investment programme does not only increase the power potential of Perm region but also provides for its power engineering development.

Perm HPP-13 of JSC IES’s “Generation of the Urals” Division is situated on the right bank of Perm in Ordzhonikidzevsky district of the city. The power plant provides many industrial enterprises of Perm city with electric power, including Russia’s largest cable and conductor producer JSC “Kamkabel” as well as other objects of social sphere, and performs centralized heat supply for the large near-by residential community named Gaiva.
