OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2010. IES announces the beginning of Energy Cooperation Contest which is held in 16 regions of the company's operation for the second year. Its goal is to reveal and encourage the most power efficient heat and electricity consumers. As one of the largest heat and power producer IES-Holding is directly interested in efficient consumption of energy produced by it, correct accounting system and timely payments.

The contest is held with the assistance of IES’s partners: the government bodies, scientific and public organizations. Their representatives are members of contest commissions. The number of experts has increased two times up to 149 persons in comparison with the last year.

The expert support of the contest will be provided by the Center of Power Efficient Solutions of “Giprocommunenergo”. Its specialists will take part in summing-up of contest’s results. The Institute has been operating for more than 80 years and has been specializing in development of communal power industry efficiency increase programs and introduction of energy efficient technologies within the last years.

In all 16 regions the jury will select the most energy efficient companies in 6 nominations. They will be honored with “Year Energy Effect” award. The experts will also determine the most energy wasteful company of the region and it will be given an anti-award “Energy vampire of the year”.

In 2009-2010 the Holding developed and started the introduction of the complex of internal events, which contribute to efficiency increase of energy resources production and consumption. They include the reduction of power inputs at production due to construction of new generating capacities, modification of the current equipment using advanced technologies, installation of accounting devices, energy saving programs implementation in offices and plants. At the same time the Company is ready to do everything to promote the development of energy consumption culture in Russia.

IES assumes that Energy Cooperation Contest will attract the attention to energy saving problem and will contribute to establishment of the energy efficient economics in our country.
