Azerfon LLC launched its commercial activities on 21 March 2007 under brand name Nar Mobile. Today the network coverage of Azerfon reaches 80% of territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Currently, over 1.6 million of subscribers use the network of Azerfon. In 2009 an agreement on non-equity partnership was signed between Azerfon LLC and Vodafone Company. On 2 December 2009 Azerfon LLC obtained the license for render of services on 3G technologies in the country. Innovative and rapidly developing mobile operator of Azerbaijan for the first time put 3G service into operation in the country and launched new brand – Azerfon-Vodafone.
