Kazatomprom Launched Kazakh-Canadian Enterprise INKAI
OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2010. The Kazakh and Canadian partners in Joint Venture Inkai (JV Inkai) held a ceremony celebrating the main process plant opening and startup of the Inkai uranium minesite in Suzak Region of South Kazakhstan Oblast. The ceremony, recognizing the plant's production startup, was attended by Company managers and founders, personnel from Canada's Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the RoK Ministry of Industry and New Technologies and local dignitaries, reported the press-centre of KASE.
The Company's main process plant is located near Taikonur Village of Suzak Region, South Kazakhstan Oblast. The minesite is the largest hydrogenous type deposit located in Shu-Sarysu uranium ore province. JV Inkai has licenses for uranium mining on the areas referred to as Block 1 and Block 2 and an exploration license for the area referred to as Block 3. The results of the test operations proved the effectiveness of the ISR mining method and the economic feasibility of the project.
