OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2010. Scientific & Research Institute of Economic Reforms of the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan has completed primary passportization of economic regions of the country.

Institute’s director Vilayat Veliyev says that they have prepared primary version of passports of all nine economic regions of Azerbaijan.

“Passport contains data about current socio-economic situation in the region, natural and labor resources, region’s territory, economic potential and other information on 17 various sections. When preparing passports the Institute studied international experience of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. The passport also composes data about investment directions of regions,” Veliyev said.

He added that making of such passports on each region of Azerbaijan would become important and necessary database for local and foreign investors when assessing the level of current potential use.

“In the future we are going to improve passports and carry out detailed elaboration on administrative districts,” he said.

In the course of the meeting it was presented primary version of passport of Ganja-Gazakh economic region.
