OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2010. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has appointed Mikhail Rusy Belarus’ Agriculture Minister, the press service of the president said.

Rusy earlier headed the commission for Chernobyl, environment and environmental management with the lower chamber of parliament, the House of Representatives.

Former agriculture minister Semyon Shapiro has been appointed Chairman of the Grodno Region administration.

Speaker of the upper house of parliament, the Council of the Republic, Boris Batura, has been appointed Chairman of Minsk Region administration.

Lukashenko also approved the appointment of Deputy Speaker of the lower chamber of parliament, the House of Representatives, Valery Ivanov, as First Deputy Chairman of Minsk Region administration.
