OREANDA-NEWS. June 08, 2010. In accordance with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s decree dated June 06, 2010, JSC IRKUT Corporation is defined as the only contractor for the state orders for works on the development and certification of MC-21 aircraft family.

The decree issued in accordance with Federal Law dated July 21, 2005 № 94-FZ paragraph 17, Part 2, Article 55 - "On placing orders for goods, works and services for state and municipal needs placed by The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation

MC-21 Program is intended for the creation of short and medium range aircraft family with high operational capability and designed for Russian and international markets of civil aircraft.

The family includes three types of aircrafts: МС-21-200 (150 seats), МС-21-300 (181 seats), МС-21-400 (212 seats).

IRKUT Corporation is the head contractor of the program. The program of creation of a family of short and medium range passenger aircraft is included in the Federal target program of development of civil aviation which is coordinated by The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The program of creating a family of MC-21 aircraft is performed in full accordance with the schedule.
