OREANDA-NEWS. June 08, 2010. The first delivery of KAMA EURO 129 model tires to Volkswagen was made, a famous German auto manufacturer. It means that KAMA EURO tires have passed rigorous selection and joined the proven at the highest level suppliers of one of the leaders of the world automotive industry, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

Delivery of tires for the original equipment to Volkswagen Concern has resulted from a long and systematic work carried out by the Kama Trading House, the Kama Scientific and Technical Center and experts of OAO Nizhnekamskshina, which is part of Tatneft-Neftekhim Management Company.

After the purchase of tire plants in Nizhnekamsk (Tatarstan) TATNEFT Company invested heavily in upgrading production facilities, acquisition of new technologies and development of new tire models. The result was not slow to arrive: by the results of work in 2009 the complex of Nizhnekamsk tire plants, Russia's largest tire manufacturer, was the only one demonstrating growth in various market segments during this crisis period.

The auditors Volkswagen Concern had thoroughly studied factories, the scientific and technical center, warehouses, logistics, and other parameters associated with tires production selected for delivery to Volkswagen factory. Based on the audit results KAMA EURO 129 tires received a "green light".

KAMA EURO 129 tires will be installed on one of the new models of Volkswagen Concern. At the moment, the Kama Trading House is negotiating supply of the KAMA EURO tires for original equipment of other models of the global concern.

Asymmetric KAMA EURO 129 tire is a new development of 2010 and it is the flagship of the range of summer passenger car tires. KAMA EURO 129 model has the title of a "green" tire. High environmental parameters have been achieved thanks to the presence of the larger than usual amount of silica in the rubber compound and this leads to decreasing exhaust emissions and reduction of the fuel consumption and wastes.

The tire plants complex of TATNEFT Group of Companies also includes OOO Nizhnekamsk tire SSC factory. By 2011, it will start working at full capacity manufacturing 1.2 million pieces of all steel cord tires per year. Thus, 70% of the solid steel cord tires consumed in Russia will be manufactured by the companies of TATNEFT tire complex.

TATNEFT commissioned this plant in December 2009 with investments in this project amounting to \\$ 500 million. The new plant produces truck and bus tires. The fabrication technology of rubber compounds contemplates usage of a large share of natural rubber and silica, which provides for high products quality. The possibility of three fold tires retreading increases the mileage up to 500 thousand km. The fuel consumption saving per car averages up to 15%. The tires fully comply with European environmental standards.
