70 German Companies Took Part at “Moldova Presents” Forum
OREANDA-NEWS. June 08, 2010. It was held in Potsdam and was organized by CCI of Moldova in cooperation with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Potsdam, with the assistance of the Eastern Committee of German Economy (a collective body of main associations of business unions in Germany), as well as the Embassy of Moldova in Germany and the Ministry of Economy of Moldova.
During the forum, the Vice-Premier, the Minister of Economy of Moldova Valeriu Lazar presented the economic situation and the development trends of the national economy, especially stressing the potential of agriculture and energy sectors. Much attention was paid to free economic zones as the most important factor in economic development and in this regard the Minister of Construction and Regional Development Marcel Raducan has especially emphasized the opportunities of regional cooperation.
Among the participants of the Moldovan economic mission were representatives and senior executives of Bemol, Moldtelecom, Posta Moldovei, Red Union Fenosa, Sudzuker Moldova, Stroylux, Trans Oil, BMS Balti etc. It can be reminded that on June 2-4, the official visit of the Moldovan government, accompanied by the group of Moldovan businessmen, which are looking for new possibilities of closer trade and economic-investment cooperation, takes place.
During the visit, the Moldovan delegation visited the largest German company Berger GmbH & Co, involved in agribusiness sector.
According to official data, to date 166 joint ventures with German capital, created at bilateral and multilateral basis, are registered in Moldova. The volume of German investments in the national economy, as of October 1, 2009, makes 1 billion 715, 9 million leis (7.1% of the total foreign investments in the Moldovan economy).
