RTS Released Stock Market Trading Results

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, fell by 6.74% to reach 9,150.58 points (9,811.96 points as of April 30, 2010). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 Index went down by 14.71% to reach 1,640.09 points (1,922.99 points as of April 30, 2010). Key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market showed a negative trend. The largest decline was demonstrated by the financial sector, with the RTS Finances Index losing 18.61%. A significant decline was reported by the telecommunications sector, with the RTS Telecom Index going down by 15.77%. The smallest decline was experienced by the metallurgy sector: the RTS Metals & Mining Index lost 10.12%.
In May the US dollar grew by 4.12% against the Russian ruble to reach 30.50 rubles per US dollar (29.29 rubles as of April 30, 2010).

In May 2010 the securities trading volume on RTS equaled USD46.99 billion (1,429.39 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD10,721.67 million.
The top sellers of the month on the RTS Stock Market were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD 4,511.6 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD 3,006.1 million and ОАО "LUKOIL" ordinary shares (LKOH) with a turnover of USD1,020.0 million. The share of the above securities in the turnover made up 41.16%, 27.42% and 9.31% respectively.
The top gainers of the month were ordinary shares of TMK (TRMK) that experienced a growth of 26.10% to reach USD 3.783, ordinary shares of JSC "Polymetal" (PMTL) that went up by 9.66% to reach USD 11.35 and ordinary shares of OJSC "Kazanorgsintez" (KZOS) that gained 8.82% to end up at USD 0.185 per share.
The top losers of the month were preferred shares of MDM Bank (MDMBP) that lost 44.74% to reach USD 0.42, ordinary shares of RAZGULAY Group OJSC (GRAZ) that went down by 34.34% to reach USD 1.3 and ordinary shares of OAO Raspadskaya (RASP) that decreased by 32.87% to USD 4,8.
