OREANDA-NEWS. June 07, 2010. SOCAR President Mr. Rovnag Abdullayev met with the delegation headed by the General Director of the Kuwaiti Energy Company Mr. Mansour Abuhamsi visiting Baku to attend the 17th Caspian Oil & Gas conference. By welcoming the Kuwaiti Energy Company management, one of the countries possessing rich oil and gas reserves, Mr. Abdullayev stressed the importance of the International conference held in Baku every year.

According to him, this forum opens wide opportunities for energy companies to establish closer contacts. By expressing his gratitude for sincere reception, the head of the Kuwaiti Energy Company Mr. Mansour Abuhamsi stated that they are closely acquainted with the ancient history of Azerbaijani oil industry and have gained much from this. “We are deeply impressed by great achievements gained in the oil industry of Azerbaijan in the recent years that were reflected in the 17th Caspian Oil & Gas-2010 exhibition. As representatives of Kuwaiti oilmen with the 80-year history, we have gained much from this visit.

The most important is that today we are laying a foundation of friendship with SOCAR which is at the stage of its growth. I hope this meeting will become a beginning of a long-term cooperation between our companies”, Mr. Abuhamsi said. Afterwards, by introducing the Kuwaiti Energy Company to SOCAR, Mr. Abuhamsi spoke of its achievements as the first private company of Kuwait.

At present, the Kuwaiti energy company that implements over 40 projects in the Middle Eastern and CIS countries has reached high indicators, mostly in reconstruction of old fields with reduced production rates. R. Abdullayev wished success to Kuwaiti Energy Company in its future activities.
