OREANDA-NEWS. June 07, 2010. A joint session entitled “Business and Government Interaction” took place in the village of Michurino in the Buzuluk district, during which heads of TNK-BP subsidiaries in the Orenburg Region met heads of municipalities in 20 oil producing districts, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

Sergei Grachev, the first Vice-Governor of the Orenburg Region and Dmitri Kulagin, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly took place in the meeting as well.

Benefiting from an open atmosphere the oilers relied on their power point slides and diagrams to illustrate their current work and talk about new fields and licensed sites as well as oil and gas production prospects.

The meeting also addressed such issues as land use, environmental protection, social support and budgeting at the district level.

Participants often spoke of TNK-BP’s significant role in contributing to the Region’s budget.

In their presentations heads of districts stressed the importance of putting in place cooperation Agreements with the company. These documents serve as a basis for extending assistance in implementing social programmes, constructing and renovating vital facilities in the Region as well as facilitating targeted support to institutions and ordinary residents. When it comes to that, oilers are always swift to offer their help and support. “The company would never refuse to help, which is especially important when the roads become barely accessible in springtime. It would always provide us with specialty equipment to prevent floods”, said Yuri Kolyada, head of the Kurmanaevsky district.

In concluding the meeting TNK-BP’s Vice President and Director of the TNK-BP Orenburg branch Alexander Grabovski thanked everyone who took part in the meeting for the constructive dialogue and expressed particular words of gratitude to Alexander Zhalybin, head of the Buzuluk district, for his assistance in organising and hosting the event.
