Azerbaijan Resumes Black Oil Export
OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2010. This May Azerbaijan resumed black oil export halted in April after resumption in March of the year.
Simultaneously the Department of Marketing & Economic Operations of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) registered decline of prices for all petroleum products (except motor petrol) exported for the past month.
SOCAR informs that oil products were observed rise ranged from USD 45.56 up to USD 76.1 per ton this May. Maximum rise of prices in 2009 was registered in June (from USD 49.35 up to USD 103.44).
“This May, price for ton of motor petrol made up USD 701.99, aviation fuel - USD 682.75, diesel fuel USD 642.01 and black oil USD 446.62 per ton,” SOCAR said.
At that, price for petrol dropped by USD 76.1, aviation fuel by USD 58.8, diesel fuel by USD 60.08, and black oil by USD 45.56.
The 2009 record growth was observed in June – 86.64, USD 103.44, USD 94.39 and USD 49.35 per ton respectively. The highest prices for oil products in 2008 were observed in June - USD 1132.02, USD 1287.27, USD 1201.55 and USD 673.81 per ton.
According to SOCAR, this May’s overall export of Azerbaijani oil products declined to 144,732 tons and for Jan-May 2010 reached 813,799 tons.
This March the country exported black oil (235 tons) first time this year.
In 2009 maximum export was registered in February (206,468 tons) and in 2008 in October (343,742 tons).
For the past year overall export of petroleum products made up 1.968 million tons versus 2.58 million tons over 2008.
In 2010 this export still makes up 25.87% of the 2009 volume.
