OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2010. Laying of foundation stone of the new power station 180 megawatt took place in Defanovka settlement of Tuapse District, Krasnodar Region.

According to design development it is planned to install two gas turbines at the Dzhubga TPS. Natural gas will be used as the main fuel. The territory of the construction site is 12 ha; it is situated 60 km south to Krasnodar city.

Contractor in charge and investor of the thermal power station is OJSC “OGK-3. Construction of the Dzhubga TPS is planned to be completed in the middle of year 2013.

OJSC “Gazprom” sent technical conditions for connecting the planned gas pipeline and gas outlet to the Dzhubga TPS.

The main purpose of the new station is to provide reliable energy supply for the Olympic Games 2014 and Black Sea coast facilities of Krasnodar Region from Novorossiysk to Tuapse.

Reconstruction of the existing substations and construction of the new ones is stipulated by the program of Sochi and Winter Olympic Games energy supply. At present time 24 energy facilities are under construction.
