OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2010. The Ukrainian coke producers increased the output of 6% humidity coke by 14.6% y/y to 7.884mn tones in 5M2010. In May 2010, their coke output totaled 1.645mn tones.

Millennium Capital: the coke volume shipments for the steelmakers have decreased due to a decrease in the steel output. Some coke producers even chose to also decrease the coke output. In particular, Avdiivskiy Coke-Processing Works <AVDK UK BUY> has decreased its May output by 7.6% m/m to 265ktones (5M2010 AVDK coke output has grown by 25% to 1,344.5ktones). The decrease of the AVDK May output has been caused by a drop in the production by one of the major AVDK customers, – Mariupol Illich Steelworks <MMKI UK U/R>.
