OREANDA-NEWS. June 02, 2010. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will continue intensive activity to  improve ecological condition of Absheron in this year.

According to Vice President of SOCAR for Ecology Soltan Aliyev  work is carried out to create an  ecological park now.

“Perhaps, this work will be finished till the end of the year,” S. Aliyev said.

In 2010, SOCAR envisaged a large variety of projects, focused on improvement of ecological condition of Absheron peninsula.

“It is planned to create a centre of operational environment protection, the enterprises for utilization of solid waste, automobile parts and electronics.  Presently,  about 300 ha of land  have been cleared, in addition, implementation of  “White city” project is envisaged in the territory of “ Black city”,” S. Aliyev said.
